Wingham and the Upper Manning Honour Roll Project
Wingham RSL sub-Branch commenced a project to update the Honour Roll at the Wingham Memorial Town Hall. They aim to create, document and carry out a process to identify every person in the Wingham and Upper Manning locality who has completed military service in the Australian Defence Force and to recognise their service by placing their details on a military honour board at the Wingham Town Hall.

The project committee has made determinations to include twenty-eight new names to the honour roll.

History Talk at Lane Cove Library - Kokoda after 75 years

The Kokoda Campaign was a baptism of fire for Australian World War II militia units and the Papuan Infantry Battalion. It would also be the closest Japanese land forces got to the Australian mainland during the war. Lieutenant Colonel Rowan Tracey LLB BA will discuss the Kokoda Campaign in relation to the Japanese overall strategy in the Pacific and the Commonwealth Government’s response.
